Super Green Smoothie

Serves: 1 smoothie
 
Ingredients
  • 2 handfuls organic baby spinach
  • ½ cup frozen berries [blueberries are my fave]
  • ½ frozen, pre-peeled banana
  • 1 Tbsp sunflower seed or almond butter [or ¼ ripe avocado – this adds extra creaminess]
  • 1 serving high quality protein powder, optional [serving size will be labeled on product]
  • 1 -2 cups filtered water [sometimes I will use cashew, coconut or almond milk if I have some on hand]
  • [Optional Smoothie Extras]:
  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds or ground flax seeds
  • 1 Tbsp cacao nibs
  • 1 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pitted date [for added sweetness]
Instructions
  1. Place all ingredients in blender
  2. Blend and enjoy.
  3. You can add ice or increase/decrease amount of liquid used to reach desired consistency.
